Melissa La Venia is a Director at Moore Doeren Mayhew, the international practice of Doeren Mayhew. A tax attorney by training with over a decade of experience, Melissa is well versed in international taxation laws impacting corporations and individuals globally. Her knowledge and expertise focus on US tax law as applied in an international setting to high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates and closely held corporations. Fully bilingual, in English and French, she often speaks at conferences and events on international tax planning for private clients. Prior to joining the firm, Melissa was a partner in the US tax group of an international tax and accounting firm located in Montreal, Canada. Additionally, she spent time as an Adjunct Professor at the Université de Sherbrooke, teaching US Tax for the Masters of Tax program.
